Below are instructions on how to download, install, and play our latest releases. Official releases are fully tested, balanced and complete. Development releases are snapshots of our work in progress and are incomplete. Read our FAQ to learn more. All releases include both the game and editor applications.

Download

Download Hero of Allacrost
All releases are available on our Sourceforge page found at the like above. Choose the appropriate folder for the type of release you wish to download (official or development). We provide installers for Windows (.exe) and OS X (.dmg). A source package is provided for other operating systems.

Linux distributions may also provide Allacrost in packaged formats such as .deb for Debian/Ubuntu or .rpm for SuSe/Redhat. Check your local package repositories to see if Allacrost is packaged for your system.

Install

Windows

  1. After the download completes, run the executable file.
  2. Follow the directions in the installer and select a location to install Allacrost.
  3. Launch the game or editor after installation completes.

OS X

  1. After the download completes, run the .dmg file.
  2. Follow the directions in the installer and select a location to install Allacrost.
  3. Launch the game or editor after installation completes.

Source

  1. After the download completes, open up a terminal and change the directory to where you downloaded the file.
  2. Unpack the tarball with the following command: untar -xvzf [file_name].tar.gz. The files will be placed in a new directory created in the current folder. Type cd [new_directory]>.
  3. Enter the following string of commands to compile, build, and install the game and editor: ./configure && make && make install
  4. You may now execute allacrost and allacrost-editor from the command line.
