While not nearly as good as Jetryl's animations he's been posting lately here is a side view of an existing sprite that Jetryl asked me to work on. I'd like to finalize it before I get working on the side-view walk animations for it. [img:46:57]http://fydo.net/images/lady-side.png[/img] CC, please

On another note, I've noticed that both Claudius and Laila are left handed (assuming the crossbow is on Laila's dominant arm). Lets be sure to have a mix of right handed and left handed characters when we get some more of these. It's looking like they'll be ambidextrous. See this quote from Jetryl ...

Yay, I'm alive! [img:192:256]http://fydo.net/images/old_lady-rev2.png[/img] I've made those changes you've suggested, Jetryl. I think it looks a lot better in-game now. So yeah, as I mentioned in IRC, unless there is some glaring issue that I missed, I'll consider this done from my end. You guys are...

Hey there, Here's a rear view animation, I've tried to add some shoulder and bum movements to make the walk look a little less stiff, but it still seems not quite right. Do you think you could take a look at it, Jetryl? [img:64:128]http://www.fydo.net/images/old_lady_rear-v2.gif[/img] Thanks a bunch!

Jetryl: Sounds good. I'm going to start working on the rear view walking animation now. However, I'm going to be away all weekend, so I'll start on it on Monday In related news, I just recently figured out how the sprite animation order goes on the sheet (it's played 2-3-4-2-5-6-repeat, not 2-3-4-5-...

Here is the rest of the side view walk animation. I think I managed to get the slight limp effect with only 5 frames of animation. I tried to do something with the hair/earrings in terms of movement, but one pixel didn't seem subtle enough for what I wanted. Anyways, let me know what you think. [img...

Been swamped with stupid work stuff lately, so I haven't had a whole lot of time.

I did manage to work on the arm movements of the side view (It might need a little more tweaking though)

Looks good to me, Jetryl. :approve:

I should have some time this evening to work on the side view walk animation. :)

Okay, here is a rear view. (not animated yet)

I envisioned her having a large hood that extends down quite a ways in the rear. What do you think?

C&C (and edits) are welcome!

Sounds like a cool idea.

I like that screenshot, the rays of light do add a lot of depth to the image. (In addition to making it look pretty)

A foreground/overlay layer or something similar would be beneficial if you want to add any other foreground effects like big snowflakes or rain, etc.

My vote goes to Libertine Caps for titles and menus, and regular Libertine for everything else. I'm surprised you can't tell the difference between Libertine and Junicode, roots Check out the capital W's for the biggest difference. Also, I think Junicode's capital T is a little too wide. Libertine j...

I think I mis-interpreted the spritesheet, the far left sprite is only shown when the character/NPC is standing still, and the remaining 5 sprites are used in the walking animation. I had thought that all 6 sprites were for the walking animation. Oops So, I edited it down to 5 frames, and I've clean...

We can make enemy sprite graphics which assume a treasure box form and sit and wait idly, but when the character comes to close it suddenly unfolds/uncamouflages itself and aggressively chases after the player. Haha, that's really awesome. Makes me want to start working on sprites for a treasure bo...

I really like those ideas. Nice and simple. The Chrono Trigger sparkles are fun, and can add a lot of replayability to the game. (People trying to find every item, etc) Also, to be honest, I think 'hearing' treasures as you get closer to them is kind of weird. Also, I think it would be a good idea t...

Thanks for the kind comments. :D
I should have some more time this evening to work on it.

In the meantime, Safir-Kreuz, do you want to make a side and/or rear view?
Or do you want me to just try to interpret what she would look like from a different angle?

Here's a bit of a work-in-progress shot... I haven't done this in a while, so forgive my rustiness [img:32:64]http://fydo.net/images/old_lady-rev1.gif[/img] I tried to work in a slight limp with the cane/stick being there. The arm on her right needs to be a little more swingy I think. I like how the...
