I'm content with working on battle mode. A few things I'd like to get done with it: 1) First and foremost, before we add any new features -- convert the battle images over to using map sprites. 2) Start setting up an event system. This is not strictly a battle mode thing as we can use it to handle m...

Hooray! Yeah, I figured it had something to do with that function since it was the only place we pushed stuff into that array, but I didn't notice the pointers weren't getting cleared. Good eye!

Roots, I looked into the destructor crash from battle mode. It appears that in the destructor for TextImage we call TextImage::Clear(), which deletes our text_sections. However, for some reason, we have two text_sections, but they both point to the same thing. SO what happens is we delete the first ...

Nope, that latest commit was from me and I took out that extra draw call, so draw is only called once. If you're still having the problem, then it's something else.

That would be it. Because i saw that in the code. However, I did comment out those lines of code several commits ago. For both target and action information. How they became uncommented I have no clue. Someone either specifically undid it, or they blew the merge. I've committed it. Guess we can file...

I'll give it a look. EDIT: OK, I tried it out. First off, when the player wins a battle, I'm occassionally getting segfaults. For about 25% of battles, it segfaults after I win. I don't have any idea why, but it just started happening today, I believe. Ok, I got this to happen. It was a problem with...

Maybe you had it installed in a system location? Not that I know of. Whatever. I'll upload it. To that effect, it would be really really really nice if a Windows person (and OS X person if its relevant) could upload all the DLL/library files needed for -both- run-time and compilation. I think good ...

Yeah I can include it. I'll add it in when I get home tonight. I thought it was kinda strange it wasn't listed as a DLL on the wiki, but the game ran fine without it, so I assumed it wasn't needed (sound fx were coming through just fine).

As of my last commit, everything was working fine, so that should narrow down the number of revisions that could be the culprit.

Don't program like it's 1990, you're just shooting yourself in the foot

Nah it's not that. I'm just not used to programming games that belong in 1990 ;).

According to my knowledge, malloc/new already handles memory fragmentation issues Nope, not at all. That's why at work we pool as often as possible. It copies by reference unless you make a change to the string, only then does it duplicate it Oh, didn't know that. Then I guess it doesn't matter the...

Post 0.2.1 Code Changes

Looking around the codebase, I noticed two things we could do to make our codebase a little better: 1) Memory Pooling We have new/delete and insert/erase calls all over the place, and it’s dynamically allocating memory like crazy which results in fragmentation. I’m proposing we start creating pre-al...

ChopperDave: I did make one change to the attack point indicator that might have screwed things up. Before the indicator images were all in separate files, so I moved them into a multi image file and wrote the multi image code to load them. I might have screwed up something there. Make sure that th...
