And here's the really complicated cliffs. I've put red dots in the middle of normal dirt tiles— these aren't unique to the cliffs, but i left them there for context. [img:480:320]http://www.jwbjerk.com/dl/allacrost/stone-cliffs.png[/img] I may not have time to convert any more in the near future, bu...

Some trees of adjustable height: [img:256:160]http://www.jwbjerk.com/dl/allacrost/plants.png[/img] All the the images i've done and will do are to be divided strictly on a 32pix grid starting in the upper left corner. 1) i'm adapting graphics that have shadows that go in the wrong direction The shad...

I was assuming those chests would only be used on the free game graphics setting which they come from? Why only there? Why couldn't these chests be used in a cave, for instance? Actually this idea might work because yes, floors are usually flat! But if there were like a rock or something under the ...

[img:225:288]http://www.jwbjerk.com/dl/allacrost/stone-dirt-grass.png[/img] The top 3 groups are variants of the plain surface. The lower 4 groups are transitions. I believe they tile rather nicely, but haven't tested it extensively. Laying down transition tiles is another purpose and "intelligent" ...

You'll also notice in the Claudius example that the darker outlines tend to be on the underside of things—the bottom of his shoulder pads, but not the top. It's where shadows naturally fall. Outlines should generally be darker/stronger if the division being outlined would cast a shadow..

Thanks :) ...and it really goes with the free game graphics too. But these are the free game graphics—modified for size, and tweaked. I don't expect these to work perfectly, i'm just trying to get something half-way decent out there quickly so the lack of tiles doesn't slow other things up. The ches...

Your additions look fantastic! I REALLY like what you've done with the northside wall with the cracks and the darknening. Very nice. Thanks, but you are crediting me for what i didn't do. These aren't before and afters , but 2 sets, a well-kept and a damaged interior set. The original artis...

Here's the first installment. I've shrunk these down to 32x32, as well as modestly enhanced them. The largest change is the darkening of the top surface of the beams. The beams themselves may not look as pretty, but i'm confident that once you fill that room with stuff, it will look right. They migh...

Has anyone started to convert these?

I could probably get the tiles working that make sense for allacrost in a couple weeks.

His tiles are 40x40 so something will have to be resized.

There's really not that much i can do (or at least without a lot of trouble) without a map editor. Please send me a PM when there's a semi-working map editor available for Mac Os X, and i'll see what i can do.

Maybe i don't understand, but wouldn't you want a way to choose which 4 characters will initially participate in the battle?

...It's not as tedious as you may think; but then again, maybe I'm just used to it. I'm not saying macros/automation wouldn't help, though. I just mean that 'traditionally' it's done purely by hand, and yes, it is quite feasable. ;) Hell, I placed every single tile in every map in Lynn's Legacy by ...

It comes with the territory, pretty much; even if you take the simplest and cleanest route of making the different tiles, it's still going to be a huge pain to make a half-decent looking map if you're striving for that level of graphical complexity. I don't think the map making will be easy, but it...

Trust me, it looks plain and blank by itself, but looks good actually in the menu.

The next logical job is to make gables - the diagonal joins between two parts of a roof that are going in different directions. I like the idea of the game engine controlling the time of day rather than making dark and lighted tiles. From the story you kinda need to have day and night since a relatively big deal is made of how much more dangerous the desert is at night. Which makes it hard to cross more than a days worth of ...

i'm probably going to work on some interior tiles.
To start out, for no particular reason, i made this rug.
