Re: Compiling under mingw-w64

For the clang patch, I'm using nan's solution for the global.h file. For the Luabind header, I grabbed a fix from the official LuaBind repository, so we're a bit more in line with the official version there. Thanks again for these patches, nan. This works for compiling on the Linux version of clang ...

Re: Compiling under mingw-w64

Great! One question, what is the reason for renaming CONTEXT_* to MAP_CONTEXT_*? Is there a w64-related reason for this? The other patch looks fine, and this doesn't seem to break anything on the Linux side (haven't tried on Win32 yet). Also, can you provide us with the patches for mingw/clang? Even...

Re: Compilation of defs_modes.cpp

Okay. I was using 4.4.something, so I'll investigate with 4.5 or later. I know that on Linux I've been able to compile with 4.5 and 4.6, but there have been changes in their behavior.

Thanks for the information. :approve:

Re: Compilation of def_modes.cpp

Odd. It's working fine for me. What version of MinGW-GCC is this? Also, have you done a full clean before building?

Re: Editor hang/performance issue

I have a hunch that the issue is with me using integrated video and not having enough video memory for really large maps. Things work properly but slowly if I drop to software rendering. They also work fine if I make smaller maps, which is what I will do for the time being. With that in mind, it's p...

Re: License?

reedake, see Winter Knight's link above your post. Everything in Allacrost is provided under the GNU GPL version 2, which is an open-source license. If you're not familiar with it, I'd suggest you read up on it, as it is a complex license with plenty of pros and cons. Our content is not available un...

Re: Prologue Release -- Map Changes and Features

Ehh. I'm okay with keeping that one there; there's one when you're in a dungeon, so it seems kind of confusing to have nothing when you're in a town -- nothing indicates that you have infinite stamina. I mean, maybe it could appear and fade away whenever it's infinite or completely filled, but eithe...

Re: Subversion Commit Log

Forgot to post yesterday, but r1887 was a simple revision to update the Code::Blocks project for Windows.

<CIA-32> allacrost: rujasu * r1887 /trunk/game/ (4 files): Updated Windows Code::Blocks project with new files.

READ THIS if you want to build from source on Windows!

This process should work for the latest SVN of Allacrost. You will need the Code::Blocks IDE set up with a working MinGW installation. The version of MinGW that comes bundled with the IDE may or may not work, but anything 4.4 or later should work fine. You will need the most recent Allacrost depende...

Re: Prologue Release -- Map Changes and Features

- Scene Lighting The majority of the prologue takes place at night. We need to make sure that we can script our maps to use this lighting. I don't think there's much that needs to be done here, so long as the lighting feature in the video engine still works (we used it in our first demo wayyyy back...

Seeing as I'm trying to recove my desktop at this point, I'll pass on volunteering for now. It's really not my area of expertise in any case.

Re: Prologue Release -- Battle Changes and Features

If you want, cancel the pending action and put the character's stamina at 80% so they can choose a new action. No special popups, though, that's going to be confusing and awkward. Either let them choose a new action or make them stick with the old one. One or the other, not both.

Re: Subversion Commit Log

Hmm, I'm not so sure Roots introduced that bug. I remember it being there before. Or maybe Gorz fixed it and Roots brought it back. But I remember you used to get lines like "mus/mus/mus/mus/Seeking_New_Worlds.ogg" and such in the lua file if you saved a map often enough...

Re: Prologue Release -- Battle Changes and Features

Also one final design note. If you select to use skill A on target X, but target X dies or otherwise becomes "untargetable" during the warmup time to execute A, the code automatically selects another random target for the execution of skill A. Instead, I was wondering if we wanted to support an "in...

Good idea, I was thinking we needed a fire animation. I'd make a new tile for the fire and put it next to the one with the urn, we can use both. :approve:

Go with the first option. I don't like the idea of having it across the top; the icons should be moving upwards, not horizontally.
