Re: Wide-screen monitors supported?

I think that is something we'll definitely want to implement one day. Also, the current resolution switching works kinda wrong in my opinion. I don't think pixel resizing is a good idea, at least not downwards, since we're losing our precious pixels. :(

Re: Cross compile Allacrost for Windows on Linux

This is something I've always wanted to do, but just couldn't get past the beginning. It'd be perfect for handling nightly builds (and why not release builds as well!) And you're right that the libraries produced by Visual C++ (at least on versions above 6.0) probably won't work with mingw so the on...

Re: Map Editor compile instructions for VS 2005 (step by step)

@MindFlayer: I just followed the instructions that came with QT, besides I also work in other IDEs (2008, CodeBlocks, Emacs, etc) and it happens I work from the command prompt. But that is alll an excuse for never thinking of using that. Good point. I never thought anyone would use anything else th...

Re: Map Editor compile instructions for VS 2005 (step by step)

If all you Windows devs could actually agree on a standard project file there wouldn't be a need to modify a system-wide environment variable... that just seems not right to me (unless you plan on using Qt for something other than Allacrost); everything needed to compile the editor and the game sho...

Re: Newbie's guide for compiling HoA with Visual studio 2005

The libs on server has been updated. I downloaded and tested on VS2005 Pro SP1, Vista. It works fine, I gotta say, MindFlayer you rock. Compiling the libs is a hell time-consuming task, thanks for doing that for us. Thanks man! I'm so glad it worked out for you. So, the only thing left to do ...

Sure, I'll try again later today if the server is working then.

The problem was again with unneccessary use of unsigned integers. :nono: People, always use signed integers unless especially needed by other libraries or so, it'll save you from a lot of trouble. Um, how come? The problem I fixed was unsigned int and < 0 -comparison, w...

Re: Newbie's guide for compiling HoA with Visual studio 2005

I've *finally* got every library dependency resolved on Windows and I cant' express enough how relieved I am again. :D To make sure this is the last time we have to go through this dependency-mess, I'll put a .zip file to the website. I'll need some feedback from people on different Visual C++ versi...

Re: Roll Call

What general area(s) are you planning on working on from now until the release of the editor/demo? I guess I should continue with the battle mode since it's still a mess code-wise... Do you expect to be able to do any coding during the next couple of weeks? Sure, if I get all the dependency librari...

Re: Recommending a rule

Totally agreed, UTF-8 should be the way to go. Also, some IDEs complain about different line-endings between Unix/Mac/Windows formats, so we should probably stick to one standard format.

Re: Compiling MapEditor

Originally, moc commands should built in MapEditor.vcproj, but I tried many times still can't work. I found that there's some syntax error in the MapEditor.vcproj. That is correct. I remember putting working moc commands in the project file, guess someone's broken it then. I'll do the fix if you ha...

Re: Newbie's guide for compiling HoA with Visual studio 2005

And I wish that somebody could update the staff lib in http://www.allacrost.org/staff/libs. That is a bit too old, and lack some libraries(ex. libintl). I'm working on this right now. I've compiled every Allacrost library from source using Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition SP1. The only problem is th...

Re: Newbie's guide for compiling HoA with Visual studio 2005

Hmmm, ran into a bit of trouble. Linking error listed below: fatal error C1047: The object or library file 'F:\allacrost\lib\jpeg.lib' was created with an older compiler than other objects; rebuild old objects and libraries any ideas? I get this same error, by using the files from dll.zip, include....

Re: Compiling MapEditor

As far as I recall, those files should be somewhere in your QT directory hierarchy. You'll have to add each of those include directories in Visual Studio's global directory settings.
