Um, it's there... you have to download the pdf version. I think what you're alluding to is the "sample" used to suck you in.

That's because this thread is really freaking old. :heh: The links in this thread were for our old website, which has long since died a gruesome death. ;)

so i guessed...

I read the prologue. It will be interesting to see that translated into a game. I'm assuming Claudius isn't slaying those demons as an unnmodified Lvl 1 character.

The ancient prophecy, i thought could benefit from a slightly more poetical form. Here's a shot at that:

Code: Select all

Once of this world, a great evil arose,
   bringing ruin on the land.
But nearly defeated, this evil bent the threads of fate,
   vanishing; vowing to return.

Yet in that day, a warrior will be revealed,
drawn by duty to his people.
To restore peace again unto the world,
   he shall be the key.

Hmm, I really like certain aspects of your version of the legend. :) Actually the prologue currently on the website contains the second version of the legend. For comparison:

Original Legend wrote:Once of this world, a great evil spread chaos over the land. Connected by the threads of fate, they one day return. Drawn by his duty to the people, a warrior appears. He is the key to bringing peace unto the world once more.

Current Legend wrote: Once of this world, a great evil began to cast
chaos upon the land. Though finally defeated, the
evil grabbed onto the threads of fate, to one day
return. Drawn by the duty to his people, a warrior
will appear, for he is the key to bringing peace
unto the world once more.

thanks

it would be cool if there was more to the prophecy, stuff that wouldn't make much sense untill you got much further into the game. But i get the impression that the story hasn't progressed enough for that to be possible.

It might also be good if the prophecy mentioned somthing about 'seeking' or 'finding' 'the warrior.' This would help explain the king's actions, (sending one man on a dangerous and improbably quest, makes more sense when backed by prophecy) This might also help the player avoid jumping to conclusions about the identity of the warrior.
