Hi folks,

after happily compiling the demo 0.1.0 I tried hopefully 0.2.0 but now I get the error message "can t find lluabind " when trying configure!
I downloaded and installed the freepops-debug package which includes the luabind.h I think but was not found, I linked it symbollicaly to /usr/include - no way, and the sources of luabind 0.7 I cant compile at all!
what can do??

Achim

BTW: with 0.1.0 I get segmentation faults when entering a new scene, is that because of low graphics memory of my Matroy G400 (16 MB) or what else possible???

Luabind is a library that isn't very widely packaged across Linux yet. Try following these instructions I wrote to compile it and install it from source: http://www.allacrost.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1433 That is how I installed Luabind on both my Debian and Ubuntu machines. Hopefully it works for you.

As for the seg fault in 0.1.0, I have no idea what that could be. You can try running Allacrost with the flag: "-d all" to print out debugging information to the terminal (ie, type "allacrost -d all")

Btw. Is it possible to convert the .deb to .rpm using alien or such program. It'd probably help fedora or other RPM-based Linux users... Or is it worth the effort? :D

I thought alien converted .rpm to .deb, but I've never used it so I'm not sure. What would be really nice is if we could get someone to package up Allacrost in a .rpm.

Hi,

or a binary tarball - that would be fantastic!!!!

well I dont get luabind compiled at all - it ends quickly with a lot of parser errors I don t understand at all - even after getting through the script You linked to me!

and with debugging on allacrost 0.1.0 I get the following:

VIDEO ERROR: failed to create new texture in _CreateBlankGLTexture().
OpenGL reported the following error:
invalid value
VIDEO ERROR: glTexSubImage2D() failed in TexSheet::CopyRect()!
VIDEO ERROR: CopyRect() failed in TexSheet::AddImage()!
VIDEO ERROR: AddImage() returned false for inserting large image!
VIDEO_DEBUG: GameVideo::_InsertImageInTexSheet() returned NULL!
VIDEO ERROR: in LoadImage() failed to load img/backdrops/battle/desert_cave.png
BATTLE ERROR: Failed to load background image:
BATTLE: ShutDown() called!
Speicherzugriffsfehler (or english: segmentation fault ;-) )

Alien can convert DEB to RPM as well, but I'm afraid I don't know how to use it. And we need an RPM of LuaBind more than we need an RPM of Allacrost, actually...
