Aquaria -- Source Included!

Postby Roots » Thu Nov 08, 2012 7:52 pm

Aquaria is an awesome indie title that was released a few years ago. It's available for Windows, OS X, Linux, and iOS (iPad). You can purchase it on their website or through Steam (I bought it last night for Linux on the Steam Beta Linux client).

Being a commercial game, the content is not available for free although the source is (under the GPL2 license). It's written in C++ and Lua, just like Allacrost. I'm digging around in the source code today for insights. Particularly, it runs in full screen mode just fine on my heterogenous dual-monitor Ubuntu Linux system, whereas Allacrost never has as far as I can recall. I hope to figure out what the secret is so that I can fix that problem with Allacrost.

The mercurial repository is here: http://hg.icculus.org/icculus/aquaria/ . You can also browse the source code at this address. To download the source, install mercurial on your system and on the command line type the following to put it in a directory called "aquaria"

Code: Select all

hg clone http://hg.icculus.org/icculus/aquaria/ aquaria
